How to Position Yourself for Business Credit

  1. Request an EIN Number for your business (contact the IRS)

  2. Have a corporate address. Join a co-working space or use a virtual address platform such as ipostal1.com

  3. Register your business with your local Secretary of State (LLC, INC etc.)

  4. Get a business number (Google My Business or a 800 toll free number)

  5. Get a email that connects to your domain. Such as Hello@yourbuinessname.com. Google Workspaces, Go Daddy, Outlook and others offer business work emails.

  6. Have website that lists your services, email, number, business location.

  7. Register your business on Google My Business, Bing Places, Yelp Business and any other directory to increase your business SEO and searchability.

  8. Open a at least two business accounts. One with a nationwide bank (Wells Fargo, Bank of America etc.) and one with a local bank (Credit Union or a regional/small bank in your area).

  9. After you have completed all of the above steps apply for a business account with Uline, Business Tshirt Club or a compatible vendor. And start the process of building your credit!
